Squadra Pizza Lab plans its development through franchising
The operator of pizzerias specialized in delivery and take away Squadra Pizza Lab will develop its gourmet and square pizza concept through the franchise system. To this end, it has reached an agreement with the franchise consultancy GNF Worldwide, in order to define its specific format and profile, and thus be able to undertake its growth. "We don't open stores, we open laboratories," says Joel Serra, CEO and co-founder of Squadra Pizza Lab, alluding to the groundbreaking component of his brand. In this sense, the manager explains that some 6-7 openings are planned between this year and next, initially in Catalonia, to later expand to other locations.
Specifically, the company considers the city of Barcelona as its objectives, in neighborhoods such as Gràcia, but also other important towns such as Manresa or Vic, where precisely the brand can be more differential. In any case, their stores exclusively offer delivery and take away services. Squadra Pizza Lab, which is corporately structured through the limited Pizza Al Cuadrado, operates in home delivery service both through its own channel and with all aggregators. At this point, Joel Serra asks delivery companies like Glovo to better understand their algorithm in regards to waiting times and rider shifts, as well as improve commissions. For the rest, he recognizes that "take away is the most profitable for us" and specifies "how important it is to attract the customer, even with a good loyalty program." Likewise, he emphasizes the "fundamentality of visibility for small brands like us", which is why the presence of our food truck at the main music festivals is "important."
«Nosotros no abrimos locales, abrimos laboratorios».
